Twin Ports Festival of History 2023: Two Harbors Day at the Depot
The Lake County Historical Society, Two Harbors Public Library and the Dorothy Molter Museum join to celebrate local history as part of the second annual Twin Ports History Fest. The most loved train engine in the world is returning to the North Shore Scenic Railroad, but this year is moving farther up the tracks to Two Harbors. The 2023 Day Out with Thomas events will take place at the Two Harbors Depot over the first two weekends in August. The North Shore Scenic Railroad is hosting a sensory-free Day Out with Thomas the Tank Engine. Autism Speaks Minnesota, which worked with the railroad to set up the original Sensory Friendly Day eight years ago, provides special training to all volunteers and staff to make the guest/visitor experience safe and secure. The event includes all things Thomas, but without the distractions of large crowds, noise, whistles, loud music, bells and confusion. Activities are organized in a manageable series that matches…
