Estuary Extravaganza and National Water Trail Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
The St. Louis River Alliance, in partnership with the city of Duluth, presents the Estuary Extravaganza and St. Louis River Estuary National Water Trail Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. There will be nature-inspired educational activities from Hawk Ridge, 1854 Treaty Authority, Superior Hiking Trail Association, the St. Louis River Alliance and more. River Restoration in Your Neighborhood
From Perch Lake to Rask Bay, efforts are underway to restore the health of the St. Louis River. Learn about the many projects on the St. Louis River near Fond du Lac, Oliver, Gary and New Duluth and share your observations. Talk with the people working on these projects and learn more. 55+ Trail Trekkers: Chambers Grove
Duluth Parks and Rec will lead a hiking group for adults ages 55+. There will be a chance to explore a new trail each Monday evening throughout the summer. Hikes vary in difficulty. The local Gitchee Gumee chapter of Trout Unlimited is providing their expertise to lead free flycasting clinics in different Duluth parks this summer. This is an opportunity for community members to learn about the basic equipment and casting skills involved in fly fishing.
