Originally published in 2020, “Superior Hiking Trail Story: The Trek Continues, Expanded Content” by Rudi Hargesheimer brings humor, insight, and a real sense of why the Superior Hiking Trail is beloved. More than half of this second edition is new content: photos, stories about volunteer projects, trail super heroes, four more years of chronological history, major trail improvements and reroutes that have occurred since 2019, a photo spread of trail animals, and much more. Rudi’s photography of the SHT also illustrates his in-depth knowledge of the Trail’s beauty.
Rudi Hargesheimer served for six years as board president of the SHTA, spending a total of 12 years on the board. Rudi still volunteers on the Trail. He is the owner of North Shore Photo Art, a long time board member of the Parks and Trails Council of Minnesota, and a former manager at Midwest Mountaineering.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of “Superior Hiking Trail Story: The Trek Continues” are donated to the Superior Hiking Trail Association.
