Night Sky Celebration

The Night Time Celebration is an evening of music, art and science. Enjoy a free concert from singer/songwriter Michael Monro, view spectacular Northern Lights photography by Travis Novitsky as he premiers his new collaborative book Spirits Dancing and then be entertained by Astro Bob King as he takes us on a tour of the night sky.
Starry Skies North will also launch its Dark Sky Friendly Business initiative by recognizing Scott Vesterstein and the dark sky-friendly lighting at Fitgers. Although this event is free, registration is still required.
This event is a part of the annual Celebrate the Night Sky Week. Throughout the world, our night skies are becoming brighter due to overuse and poorly designed outdoor lighting. We are losing the night and all of the important benefits of dark skies. This week offers opportunities to explore and celebrate the awe of our night sky and the work being done to keep it dark — a full list of events can be viewed here.
