League of Women Voters Planning Meeting

Superior Mayor Jim Paine will present a program on issues relevant to the Superior community during the League of Women Voters Planning Meeting on the first floor of Swenson Hall, room 1058, on the University of Wisconsin-Superior campus. A reception with coffee treats beginning at 4:30 p.m. will be followed by Mayor Paine’s program at 4:45. UWS has free parking after 4:30.
Those interested in joining to help plan the next steps to forming a local LWV chapter can attend monthly meetings on the third Wednesday of the month at the same time and place.
A Superior League of Women Voters was started in 1920, and then was reorganized as the Douglas County LWV in 1969, but disbanded in 2001. A new group is re-establishing a local chapter in Superior. The league accepts men and women members and citizens outside Wisconsin.
