Haines Road Closed at Railroad Crossing

Haines Road in West Duluth will be closed for five days beginning June 1 at the railroad crossing near where it meets 40th Avenue West in the vicinity of the intersection at West Eighth Street. The closure will allow Canadian National Railway to make needed repairs to the railroad crossing.

Signs will be posted on Haines Road notifying people of the closure, and of the recommended detour route. The detour will follow Eighth Street, 57th Avenue West, Highland Street, Getchell Road, Stebner Road and Morris Thomas Road.

Haines Road is currently a formal detour route for the Twin Ports Interchange Project. The road will be closed on June 1 beginning at 7 a.m. and is expected to reopen on June 6 at 7 a.m.
