Gym to Crag: Top Rope Anchors (Session 1: Placing Protection)

Learn the basics of placing several different types of climbing gear during this University of Minnesota Duluth Recreational Sports Outdoor Program event. The group will focus on placement and evaluation of standard rock-climbing protection in this class designed for beginning climbers looking to become self-sufficient in building their own anchors for top roping, or experienced gym climbers looking to take the first steps to climbing outdoors. No experience is necessary, gear is provided, and additional personal gear is welcome.

Register by noon on the day of the event. Meet at the Inland Wall at the UMD Sports and Health Center. The cost is $5 for UMD student members and $15 for others.
