Book Signing with Ryan Rodgers, Mark Munger and Chris Monroe
Event Navigation
Zenith Bookstore is hosting local authors with new books for signing events throughout November and December. The Nov. 20 event features Ryan Rodgers, Mark Munger and Chris Monroe.
1 to 2 p.m. – Ryan Rodgers’ new book Winter’s Children: A Celebration of Nordic Skiing tells the story of Nordic skiing in the Midwest — its origins and history, its star athletes and races, and its place in the region’s social fabric and the nation’s winter recreation. Rodgers is a freelance writer and avid skier whose work has been published in Backpacker, The Sun, Minnesota Conservation Volunteer, Hamline, and Northern Wilds magazines. He lives with his family in northern Minnesota.
2 to 3 p.m. – Mark Munger’s new coming-of-age memoir Duck and Cover: Things Learned Waiting for the Bomb, is set in northern Minnesota during the Cold War. “Through the experiences of a child and the perspective of a leader, Munger’s prolific memories explore the grit-building experiences of growing up in the rugged, mid-century north,” writes Don Ness, author and former mayor of Duluth.
3 to 4 p.m. – Chris Monroe, award-winning author, cartoonist, and illustrator of many beloved children’s books, will be at Zenith to sign copies of her newest title Monkey With Tool Belt and the Craftist Christmas Ever! Chico Bon Bon’s epic Christmas party is three days away. Is our intrepid monkey ready? Of course not! Monroe’s series inspired the Netflix show Chico Bon Bon: Monkey With a Tool Belt.
