Author Meet-and-Greets on Independent Bookstore Day

Independent Bookstore Day festivities at Zenith Bookstore include giveaways, special deals, Zenith cupcakes, and more. Two favorite Duluth authors will be in the store for a meet-and-greet and book signing of their latest works.

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Emily Vikre, co-owner of Vikre Distillery, is the author of the new Family Camp Cookbook, a book for everyone who enjoys cooking and eating outdoors. Whether you need to learn how to pack your first cooler or you’re looking for kid-friendly recipes to enjoy after a day spent outdoors, you’ll learn how to plan, prep, and cook as a family when you don’t have the comforts of a full kitchen. Vikre is also the author of the best-selling Camp Cocktails.

1 to 3 p.m. – Linda LeGarde Grover’s newest book Gichigami Hearts: Stories and Histories from Misaabekong is the One Book Northland pick for 2022. Grover is an award-winning author whose titles include: In the Night of Memory, Onigamiising: Seasons of an Ojibwe Year, The Road Back to Sweetgrass, The Dance Boots, and The Sky Watched: Poems of Ojibwe Lives. Grover’s newest book is a blending of family and Ojibwe history with stories from Misaabekong (the place of the giants) on Lake Superior.
