The Lake Superior Estuarium is a gateway to the headwaters of the Great Lakes. Interactive displays tell stories of the St. Louis River Estuary, Lake Superior and the communities on their shores. The exhibit hall includes a play area for young children, maps to orient you to the largest estuary on Lake Superior and information to help you get out and explore.

Lake Superior Estuarium First Saturdays

The Estuarium is open for exploration and activities during this event. Kids can participate in story time at noon and 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4: Experience tiny nature and learn how to connect with the world on a smaller scale through magnifying glasses, small-scale photography and scientific observation of plants and insects. Find out more »Everyone Can Bird – Spring Migration at Chambers Grove
Everyone Can Bird is presented at Chambers Grove and follows the migration of many different bird species returning for the spring. This event is planned in partnership with the Friends of the Lake Superior Reserve, Duluth Parks and Recreation, Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory, Wisconsin Sea Grant, Embark Supported Employment, Minnesota Land Trust and the Lake Superior Reserve. Birds With Friends: Bear Creek Trail
Birds with Friends is open to bird enthusiasts of all experience levels. Guides present to share information on local birds and help identify them by sight and sound. Binoculars are provided. Registration is preferred but not required.
