Adding a photo to your post is easy, once you know how to do it. Reading an explanation of how to post photos is much more complicated. We wish you luck.
- First of all, you should size your photo properly before uploading it. The maximum width PDD allows is 450 pixels.
- Once you’ve sized your image properly, you may proceed with logging in and creating a post, which this advice assumes you know how to do.
- Between the field where you enter the headline of your post and the icons for altering the text of the body of your post are the words “Upload/Insert.” The first icon to the right of that is the “add an image” icon. Click it. (NOTE: If you are a new user, you won’t see the icon because you are not allowed to upload files until you’ve posted something sane to prove to the administrators you are not a nutball. Once the administrators upgrade your status, you should be able to see the icon for adding an image to your posts.)
- Click “Select Files.” A window should pop up which allows you to search for your image and upload it. So do that.
- You’ll see options such as “Title,” “Caption,” “Description” and “Link URL.” Those are for people who know what they’re doing. You should probably leave them alone.
- Where it says “Alignment,” you can click in one of the circles to select whether you want your image to be on the left, middle or right of the posting area. Generally, “none” is the best option.
- Under size, you can select if you want your image to be small (Thumbnail) sort of smallish (Medium) kind of big (Large) or as big as it actually is (Full size).
- Click on “Insert into post” and the image should appear wherever you left your cursor when you clicked “Add an Image” to start this process.
- You can pull the little squares in the corner of the image to make it larger or smaller.
- Once you’re satisfied with the size of your image, and you’re done writing whatever text you desire, click the blue “Publish” button on the right as usual, and your post, with image, should appear on PDD for all to see.
