Park Point Rental

I’m seeking a responsible roommate to share a beach house on the lake side of Park Point. Great kitchen, off-street parking, on-site laundry, internet. $485+ utilities (avg $65pp summer, adj with season). One-year lease. Available June 1. Call 218.349.9800 for details and showing.

Anyone familiar with this?

I saw a poster today for an old (25 years!) Roland electric upright piano for sale. Full-size keyboard, model HP 5500/5600. I tried to research online, but of course, these things just ain’t around anymore. Anyone familiar?

I’d love a real piano, but just don’t have the space right now, though I bet for just a bit more money I could get something much better sounding? Advise, fair Duluthians. Thanks!

Favorite campsite?

Anyone have a favorite campsite at George H. Crosby/ Manitou state park? I always used to go to #5, but want input on other fabulous spots, on the river. Your thoughts?

That 1 Guy at Big Top Chatauqua

Go see him! If you’re not familiar, check out his website. Saw him first at Green Man a few years back and he’s hella fun. Playing a 1-hour matinee at Big Top Chautauqua this Saturday for only $4 and then opening later that night (still at Big Top) for … hold onto your hearts, ladies … Kansas.

Admittedly, we’re skipping the Kansas part, but the matinee should be rad and there are still a bunch of tickets left.

ISO Used Telemark Gear

Anyone out there with some decent telemark gear they’d like to sell me? I’m just getting into it, but am already anticipating infatuation with it. Ideally skis would be 170s or shorter, boots a ladies 8.5 or 9 (European 26?), though I do have a wider foot, too. Any leads would be much appreciated!

Blasted!

Anyone have a sandblaster they might let me borrow for an afternoon?

Looking for Duluth apartment

A friend of mine is at her wits end trying to find a one-bedroom or studio apartment that is in a centralized Duluth location and is not totally ghetto. She is a sweet, responsible person and is about ready to give up hope, so if you have any ideas or leads, I’d really appreciate you leaving a comment. Thanks so much!

Inexpensive, Private Apartment in East Duluth Needed ASAP

Any suggestions or leads would be immensely appreciated. ‘Tis for a friend who needs a place by Sept. 1. One BR or Studio, Section 8 and cat friendly. She is looking for a place to rejuvenate…something mellow with nature around it and not a huge complex of apartments or rowdy students. East end preferred. Thanks, PDD!

Donation of Screenprinting for Bradfest?

Anyone out there interested in donating their mad screenprinting skills (and subsequent equipment) to help make some fund-raise-able goods for upcoming Bradfest August 13 & 14? It’s looking to be a really killer fundraiser for MN musicians, and a celebration of the life of Brad Rozman, former percussionist for local bands Equal Xchange and High Volt Rustler. If you can help, I’ll bake you two pies and will blush and stammer next time I see you. Thanks for considering!

Grill Wars!

There is a great fundraiser for the Food Bank going on tonight called Grill Wars. It takes place in the courtyard behind Fitgers and features a friendly burger competition between local vendors, and lots of free beef to stuff your gourd with. A cash or non-perishable food donation is all that is required, and beer is for sale. 5-7 pm. See you there!

Another Duluth Farmers Market!

Yay for more Farmers Markets and locally produced goods! Some good folks have branched out and started up a market in the Miller Hill Mall parking lot by the big marquee. It runs every Wednesday from 11-3 and every Saturday from 9-2 … nice for those of us who sleep in on the weekends and don’t make it over to the one on 14th.

Word has it there are some lovely fresh flowers, jams, jellies, etc. there and they are looking for more vendors, even of crafts/jewelry, so if you are looking to table, this is a great spot for it. Check it out, and support your local growers.

Fractals Contact?

Who has contact info. for the Fractals? I’d like to get a hold of them about a potential gig. Thanks!
