Wolves and Other Wildlife on the Mithrandir Trail

The Mithrandir Pack of wolves is the primary traveler seen on this trail camera footage from Voyageurs National Park, shot last summer and fall, but an array of other critters also pop in.

The camera was set up by the Voyageurs Wolf Project, which is focused on understanding the summer ecology of wolves in the park.

The Mithrandir Pack “gets its name from the white color of Wolf V083, the breeding male, who was once gray in his younger years — just like Mithrandir (i.e., Gandalf),” the YouTube video description notes. “We were super pleased with how this camera turned out. We set this camera on a remote wildlife trail we found when bushwhacking and were not sure if we would get much.”
