Boulevard Lake, Duluth, Minn.

This undated postcard must be showing one of what Duluthians call the “Twin Ponds” these days. Skyline Parkway was commonly referred to as “The Boulevard,” short for Rogers Boulevard, before taking its modern name in 1929.

The postcard was never addressed or mailed, and has no names on it, but it does bear this message:

Dear Mother,
This is a nice place, you can judge by the land. I was there when I was in Duluth. It was not as nice as it looks when I was there as the land indicates.

It’s hard to tell if the last bits of writing are an attempt to write “bye-bye” or exactly what might have been intended.
