What were the names of the people that formed the first Bob Dylan tribute band in Duluth, and where did they play? I suppose year would be good, too.

We moved here in '94 and went to a Bob tribute for the first time in '95, I think.

I seem to remember the first Bob fest being in the Dreamland Ballroom on First Street, also.

If I remember right first two were at R.T. Quinlan's and the third year at Dreamland. Paul Larson and Mark Bennett started it.

Myself and Paul Larson organized and performed the first Dylanfest at R.T. Quinlan's in May of 1993. For the next nine years, with the exception of 1996, we did this every May. Other venues were: Dreamland Ballroom (1995), NorShor Theatre (1997 and 2001), Fitger's Spirit of the North (1998), Shrine Theater (1999) and Spirit Mountain (2000). 

Don Schraufnagle became involved from 1997 to 2000. Frank Nichols was an important help and friend from 1993 to '97. I have uploaded a few videos of the 1997 show on YouTube under Duluth Dylanfest 1997.
