Oh hell no! Fred Tyson on Howard Stern?

There is a rumor going around that Duluth’s own Fred Tyson is flying out to New York City to be on the Howard Stern Show next Thursday.

Apparently he’s one of the final three in some sort of contest to become a new member of the Wack Pack, which is a collection of oddball personalities that appear on the show semi-regularly.

This ought to be interesting.

Tim Pawlenty is going to be on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart next Thursday. Maybe T-Paw and Freddy can fly to the Big Apple together.

It is true, I talked to Ben Marsen on the phone the other day. They’re flying Ben and Freddy out there this coming Wednesday, and he’ll be on the radio Thursday morning from what he told me. Should be classic.

    Oh hell yes.

Freddy is competing against two other contestants for $5,000. They fly back Thursday and should be on the island Friday. Can someone with XM Radio record this?

I listen to Howard Stern all the time, but having moved to Duluth only three years ago, I’m unfamiliar with the legend of this “Fred Tyson” character. If anybody could fill me in on why he is so awesome, messed up or why he might be appearing on the show, that is awesome. I’m familiar with the contests on the Stern show, but I guess I’m looking to find out the local legend behind this guy. Thanks.

I don’t even know where to begin. He used to out dance all of the ladies (at nearly age 60) at the Red Lion on Wednesday nights for the Black Labels. Then, he somehow ended up on stage and in the band. And that’s when things got weird: the jumpsuits, the album, his own band, his own handlers. His surgery for prostate cancer last year has slowed him down a bit, but he’s still on fire.

Ben Marsen and Freddy. What a good representation for the City of Duluth.

I made Freddy’s first jumpsuit. It took hours to glue on every rhinestone. The result led to one of the finest performances at the Red Lion ever.

Ha ha. Oh wow, I used to see that guy at the Lion. Go Freddy!!

The Howard Stern Show should be perfect for a disgusting womanzier like Ben. Freddy could take it for what it is worth, a joke, but that other sleazeball Ben, probably not.

This is best thing ever. I’ve been listening to HS for the past 12 years or so.

I am very excited to hear this and I hope Freddy wins it. I’ll get anyone that wants one an mp3 copy of it.

This was the video that won Freddy his chance:

    Side note:
Haha! Lee and Mary = jaded unattractive women hating on Ben Mar(d)sen! Hahaha!

You girls need to join the Roller Dames and get out some of that unchanneled aggression!

    hi.lar.i.ous! : )

Thanks for the plug Paul! I think.
Did you make that video? Classic Freddy!

  17. Paul Paul on June 9, 2010 at 8:39 am

Ben Marsen shot most of the video over the last several years. Ben and Kevin Craig edited it. I’ve watched it like 50 times so far. Haha.

And yes, the ‘plug’ was meant to be positive. 🙂

The plug is cool. The slam on unattractive hatin’ women is kinda not. No, it’s really not. So guess who just volunteered to be the target for hittin’ practice!!! ha HAW!

Sorry. Struck me as funny that in one of Freddy’s finest moments, some anonymous people would be layin that stuff down on Ben and Freddy. Oh well. Hit me back if you like! hehe.

    Fred Tyson!!!!

Bet your hind end Fred’s in N.Y.!!! He’s there with friend and “manager” Ben Marsen! What a great story of true friendship! Good luck guys!

Ben a womanizer? I hardly think so! Sounds like sour grapes to me.
