NorthShore Inline Marathon 2026

The 30th annual NorthShore Inline Marathon is a skating race along Highway 61. The half marathon starts at 6:45 a.m. and the full marathon starts at 8:45 a.m. The course follows the same route as Grandma’s Marathon from Two Harbors down the North Shore, then rolls through the I-35 tunnels.

In addition to the full and half inline marathons, there is a combined 39.3 marathon and a 10k skate through the tunnels.

Races in other disciplines include the full and half roller-ski marathons, and a half marathon and 10k freeway tunnel race for runners.

Several area roads are closed during the marathon. Parking is prohibited on the closed roads, and vehicles found in violation are subject to ticketing and towing. Roads re-open from east to west as racers near the finish area. All roads reopen by 2 p.m.

Downtown Duluth and Canal Park remain open to traffic during this event.
