Grounded Threads: Branch Weaving with Tiffany Fenner
$40
Participants in this four-hour class create woven wall art using natural forked branches as a frame and simple, natural fiber materials. The process involves preparing a branch for weaving, creating warp threads between the branch points, weaving yarn and fibers into patterns and textures, incorporating beads, ribbons or feathers, and finishing the piece. Each participant leaves with a finished woven wall piece and the skills to continue weaving at home. No experience is necessary.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a branch that feels meaningful to them. A good branch for weaving is forked or Y-shaped, about 6–10 inches of weaving space, dry and sturdy. Branches are provided for anyone who cannot bring one.
Registration is available at duluthart.org.
