Banner-Making with Lauren Faherty

Duluth Art Institute exhibiting fiber artist Lauren Faherty explores the rich history of banner-making and its role in social and cultural history in this four-hour class. Faherty will guide participants through creating their own banner, filled with personal symbolism or text. Using hand stitching techniques like appliqué and embroidery, attendees sew a banner that speaks to their unique point of view. While basic hand sewing skills can be helpful, they are not necessary to participate.
