Ross Thorn & Friends and Bloodroots
Bloodroots is a folk and Americana trio based in Madison. Marin Danz, Rianna Marie and Eva Paddock bonded over a shared love of female songwriters and began playing and writing together in the fall of 2025.
Ross Thorn shares the stage with a few buddies to open the show. Thorn’s second album, Fitting In, showcases fine-tuned songwriting through traditional and contemporary folk tunes that explore the humorous and somber sides of the human condition.
This show is on Bent Paddle’s outdoor stage in “The Yard.” If the weather is poor the show moves indoors to the Cosmic Stage.
Witch
Zeitgeist Theater presents the play Witch, written by Jen Silverman and directed by Anika Thompson. The show reimagines folklore with a modern twist, exploring sisterhood, power and belonging. Performances run July 30 to Aug. 2 and Aug. 5-8.
Synopsis: A charming devil arrives in the quiet village of Edmonton to bargain for the souls of its residents in exchange for their darkest wishes. Elizabeth should be his easiest target, having been labeled a “witch” and cast out by the town, but her soul is not so readily bought. As the devil returns to convince her — and then returns again — unexpected passions flare, alliances are formed, and the village is forever changed.
Tickets are available at zeitgeistarts.com.
