Northern Lights Foundation Charity Softball Game 2026
The 17th annual Northern Lights Foundation Charity Softball Game, also known as the “Battle of Badges,” is played between the Duluth Fire Department and Duluth Police Department to raise money for local families with children facing life-threatening illnesses.
Military members, first responders and children of all ages can attend for free. The event includes police and fire displays, food, raffles and more. Gates open at 5 p.m.; the game starts at 6.

Death of a Piano Premiere Screening
Tomas Soderberg’s documentary, Death of a Piano, follows four years of Duluth’s SubSuperior Underwater Music and Art Festival. A discarded piano emerges as a central character as festival participants decide how to conduct a proper sendoff.
A Q&A session follows the 50-minute feature. Donations at the door are appreciated.
