Burger blogger takes northland burger tour

burgerradioI joined Burger Radio‘s visit to Big Daddy’s Burgers in Duluth as part of the podcast’s Northland Burger Tour. Tastefully astute, yet by no means snobbish, Bruce’s latest installment describes his burger dining experiences at Gordy’s Hi-Hat, the Anchor Bar and Big Daddy’s Burgers. Bruce covers the Minneapolis-St. Paul burger scene but enjoys tasting and reviewing burgers nationwide.

The Adjustments – “North Shore Sinner Pt. IV”

Local rock band the Adjustments record “North Shore Sinner Pt. IV” at the home studio of band member Alex Nelson in Lakeside. The band’s new album At North Shore is available tonight at Carmody Irish Pub. Sam Tuthill opens the show at 10 p.m.

WITC-Superior welding students create sculpture

Superior Business Improvement District, Wisconsin Arts Board, the National Endowment for the Arts and WITC-Superior welding students unveiled their public sculpture in the vacant lot adjacent to Sclavi’s Restaurant on Tower Ave. in Superior.

The Wishing Tree is a community art participation project. Thirteen welding students of WITC-Superior, under the direction of Aleasha Hladilek, were asked to create a 7-foot sculptural metal tree. These 13 students are enrolled in the full time technical structural welding course.

Cider in Duluth?

Although off the beaten path, I enjoy Endion Station‘s cider selection.  Is there anywhere else in town with a comparable cider menu?

REI Gives $75k to Superior Hiking Trail

REI gifted 10 American trail systems a total of $500k.  The Superior Hiking Trail “won” a chunk of the money through an online poll.  Cheers, voters and REI!
