I did make it out for lunch, and the wind had calmed down enough to take some photos.
Sunshine Cafe? Closed. (Not because of the storm, but because Young and Steve are on vacation.)
Beaner’s Central? Closed. (Sorry Bruce and Linda.)
Gopher Lounge? Closed. (Opening at 4 p.m., though.)
Jade Fountain? Um … yeah, not looking very open. (China King Buffet was also closed.)
Gannucci’s Italian Market was sort of open — the deli had a few items, but the kitchen was shut down. Bill felt so bad he offered to make a pizza and when I declined the offer he made me take a complimentary sandwich with me, which I ate at the Rustic, which was open.
Also open: Mr. D’s, Kom-on-Inn, Sammy’s Pizza.
And you can’t stop Central Sales.
This is what greeted me when I opened the garage door.
I ran from the West End to the Lakewalk (and back) to check out the waves. Under those chunks of ice was a lot of water – ankle deep or so. Lake has been doing a bit of remodeling today.

There were no photos taken, but the “blizzard” also coincided with Take Your Snowshoes To Work Day.
After checking out of the shop at around 2pm, I headed home via Chester Creek. I must have encountered 20-25 people playing around in the snow. The wind was blowing just so that it kind of rolled over the ravine instead of down into it, so it was relatively calm and heavy with snowfall. I spent about an hour and a half tromping through fresh powder.
Good times.
