2011 Homegrown Schedule

The schedule for the 13th annual Homegrown Music Festival was released today. It’ll probably change a little before May 1 rolls around, but this will give you a good idea of how the week is laid out.

Herb Pharm, Healthy Liver Tonic, at the Co-op, Really helped last year, big time. Check it out, yo.

What do you mean my band isn’t headlining at Luce Saturday night!?!? I’m bringing my Homegrown ’08 tee to Seattle. Hoping to spark conversation.

First update: Big Wave Dave and the Ripples have been added to the schedule since it was first posted. Saturday, May 7, 11 p.m., at Sir Ben’s.

    Hell yeah. Best. Homegrown. Ever.

Maybe this time we’ll get out to see T57. Last opportunity we missed was 5 years ago when Little Miss decided to make May 2 her birthday.

Truman is playing same night as Elton. Double damn.

  11. zra zra on March 12, 2011 at 4:06 pm

oooohh…good point Clarie…who’s got the slot opposite Elton…sure to be a set killer @ the Arena for sure…he needn’t worry though, as soon as their respective Homegrown sets are over, I’m sure a few will filter over to check out the madman across the water.

  12. Claire Claire on March 12, 2011 at 10:04 pm

OK… I heard a rumor… a local musician I really really like has tix to Elton John too and won’t be breaking my heart by playing Friday night opposite him.

    Curious –
I have two family members playing in separate bands.
Has anyone put a genealogy trace on the bands that are playing this year? Who is related to whom?

  20. magus magus on March 14, 2011 at 1:00 pm

    T57 = Baci
    Sing! = Baci’s mom

  21. hg hg on March 14, 2011 at 3:33 pm

T-57 wear matching outfits at a Luce show maybe in 2006? One of the openers of two nights of Trampled by Turtles … heh.

Is Bayfront not used because it’s too early in the season … the weather might be to cold or the ground too mushy? Or is it because Homegrown doesn’t have the key to the city yet?

  25. Paul Lundgren Paul Lundgren on March 15, 2011 at 7:18 am

Homegrown has never used Bayfront mostly because it’s too early in the year. It can be pretty cold outside in early May. Last year there was sleet on Homegrown Friday and snow on the ground Saturday morning.

Putting on an outdoor show is also a challenge with sound and restroom facilities and so on. Planning a show like that is more difficult when there are 20 other shows to manage at the same time, so it’s never made sense for Homegrown.

But that doesn’t mean some nut won’t try it some day. Shit, any band could haul some amps and a generator down there and DIY that sonofabitch.

This past year there was the Homegrown Winter Fiasco. Maybe a summer day festival at Bayfront is feasible?

  27. hg chicken hg chicken on March 16, 2011 at 5:01 pm

I like your thinking knifey 🙂 I would volunteer

This is my stupid question of the day. Are advance tickets already on sale at the Electric Fetus? Looking to pick up some week-long passes that I intend to use this year.

  29. Paul Lundgren Paul Lundgren on April 20, 2011 at 11:50 am

Erin, your question is a good one. Tickets were delayed and are not available at Electric Fetus yet. They should be there by Good Friday, April 22.

Also, this just in: Bear Garden canceled its Homegrown show at Beaner’s.

  30. adam adam on April 20, 2011 at 1:19 pm

Picking them up later today. Should be at the ‘Fetus tomorrow.

  31. Erin Erin on April 20, 2011 at 6:35 pm

Thanks for letting me know, Paul and Adam! I stopped in on Monday and was told that they wouldn’t be in until later this week.

Bear Garden? That sure brings me back to high school…
