I worked for Glory Shine as a floor cleaner, cleaning grocery stores, about 15 years ago. It was kind of a weird job. They were run by born again Christian’s back then and still may be. I used to joke that I got the job only because my first name is Christian. In the interview, the first thing they said was, “That’s quite a name to live up to. Are you a Christian, Christian?” I just said, “Uh, yeah…” and got the job. I needed the job big time and wouild have agreed to anything back then. One of their odd policies was you could eat anything that you found on the floor, so we’d “accidentally” crash the machines down the cookie aisle to shake off Oreo’s and Chips Ahoy from the shelves. We were hungry, tired, poor, bored and eventually got pretty creative in our minor fender benders. Pity I never drove one of their vans….
