Homegrown Music Festival 2026 Primer
The 28th annual Homegrown Music Festival is underway. As usual, the weather is lousy, and as usual it doesn’t matter — it’s an indoor festival and the weather is always fine indoors.
The 100-page Homegrown Field Guide, available at numerous locations around town, offers complete details about the festival, but every year Perfect Duluth Day presents this rundown of updates, advice, sidebar details and notes of peripheral or unsanctioned interest.
First and foremost, keep in mind that the most accurate version of the schedule is always at duluthhomegrown.org/schedule. Sometimes there are last-minute changes. For example:
- The Spin Collective performance on Monday is canceled due to rain and could potentially be rescheduled for later in the week.
- KBAR is replacing Dead Guy in a Swamp on Thursday, 6:45 p.m. at Ritual Marketplace.
- Born Too Late is replacing Moxen on Thursday, 9:30 p.m. at Havana’s.
WDSE 103.3 FM “The North” is again featuring sessions with Homegrown bands throughout the week. This year it all begins with a live broadcast from Blacklist Brewery on opening day from 3 to 5 p.m. The schedule for Live from Studio A sessions during the week is as follows.
Monday, April 27, 3 p.m. – Boxcar
Tuesday, April 28, 3 p.m. – Rocking Rodents
Wednesday, April 29, 3 p.m. – Lee Clark Allen
Thursday, April 30, 4 p.m. – Nikki Lemiere
Friday, May 1, 3 p.m. – Mid Dream
The North is also presenting an exclusive interview with a local couple that stole the spotlight with a Homegrown wedding proposal in 2025. A Homegrown Love Story airs during the Northland Morning program on Tuesday, April 28. The show is from 6 to 9 a.m.; the station has not disclosed the specific time the Homegrown segment will air.
Duluth Coffee Company is hosting its traditional unofficial Homegrown Morning Music from Monday through Sunday at 11 a.m. See the poster above for the lineup.
Wussow’s Concert Cafe also has a morning coffee session featuring Teague & the Feelin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
During Homegrown’s Westside Wednesday, Duluth’s economic development team is hosting the Amplify the Block! pop-up event to demonstrate some of the work done in the Spirit Valley Core Investment Area planning. It runs from 6 to 9 p.m. with food trucks, business specials, a Homegrown pre-party at What We Saw Collaborative. The fuzzy map above provides location and business event details.
On Thursday Rich Narum is hosting his 16th annual Soup B4 Supe party with live music in the living room and hot soup in the kitchen. The address is 2104 E. Superior St. Quoth Narum: “All nice people are welcome.” The lineup is as follows.
5:30 p.m. – Rory Van James
6:30 p.m. – John Louis
7:30 p.m. – Mud Puppies
For those participating in fashion themes, that info is laid out above.
