Postcard from the Minnesota Point Lighthouse Ruins

This postcard was mailed 115 years ago. It shows the ruins of the Minnesota Point Lighthouse, which ended its run as a functional lighthouse in 1885. The faded postmark on the card is from February 1910.

The recipient of the card was Miss Ada Pilgrim of Edenville, New York. It was sent from her Uncle Hoyt.

Ada Pilgrim was 12 when she received this postcard from her uncle. She was a farmer's daughter with three younger sisters, and she went through two years of high school. In 1920, she was working in a hat factory, and living with relatives in Chester, NY. She got married to Roy Trimmer in 1928, a railroad fireman. They moved to Pennsylvania for a time, but returned to NY. They had two children when they were in their forties. (Maybe adopted?) Eventually they returned to farming. Here's her daughter Leona's obituary.

She was a bona fide history nerd, it looks like. Is that her brother's name scratched out at the top?

Not sure. The obit is from FindaGrave, so maybe an effort at privacy for the still-living.
