Not just excavating, but creating the literary history of Duluth
I post a lot about books found at the Duluth Public Library sale, or at the former Gabriel’s books, as part of the general project in my class to excavate the literary history of Duluth and to work with the UMD archives to preserve it.
My students also, in another class, work to create the literary history of Duluth by publishing collections of their work and of writers from the region and around the world.
So, I just want to draw your attention to their recently published work, Sonder, available free on Pressbooks and for “just more than Amazon charges to print it” on Amazon. From the free version, you can see local authors like Nan Montgomery, some of whose works appear courtesy arrangement with the Nemadji Review. The project really brings the students to life and it helps collect the next chapter in the literary history of Duluth.
The hardcover print edition is available at amazon.com. The free online version is at pressbooks.umn.edu.
