Postcards from North Shore Drive / State Highway No. 1
The images in this post are all touched up versions of photos from postcards for sale by eBay seller Llvintage. They appear to be circa 1925. Two depict scenes from North Shore Drive with Duluth captioned as the location, though they might have been shot outside Duluth city limits.
The top image is from the listing “1920’s-30’s North Shore Drive Duluth Minnesota Cars Real Photo Postcard RPPC.”
The second postcard is listed as “Old North Shore Drive Duluth Minnesota Real Photo Postcard RPPC”
The third image is listed as “1920’s-30’s North Shore Drive Duluth Minnesota 300 ft drop Real Photo RPPC.” Laurie DeGrio Mattson points out on Facebook the photo is of the former State Highway 1, shot from the Thompson Hill area of Duluth.
The fourth image, listed as “1920’s-30’s North Shore Drive Duluth Minnesota 500 ft drop Real Photo RPPC,” is also likely to be State Highway 1 around Thompson Hill.
