Reconstructing the Poetry History of the Arrowhead: Meda Casler and Edith Addison Thomas

A Page from Minnesota Landscapes

I am reconstructing the Poetry History of the Arrowhead as I prepare to teach my Minnesota Writers class. Today, I want to ask you whether you know anything about Meda Casler or Edith Addison Thomas.

Meda Casler and Edith Addison Thomas have almost no information available online. Maybe one more poem published, still online.

Help, PDD literati — who were these poets of the past?

Edith Addison Thomas was a stenographer and railway ticket clerk for the Northern Pacific Railway. For whatever reason, the railway's personnel records are on Ancestry. She had many leaves of absence for health during her career; maybe it gave her more time for writing poetry? She passed away around 1962. It doesn't appear that she ever married or had children to remember her.
