I met a new local author in the wild over the weekend at Gabriel’s Book Store in Lakeside. Riley Grace Brett volunteers there; she has also released a new novel.

Passion from Within looks like a novel with a mission:

A book that travels inside the mind of a young child as troubling events occur and rattle her entire world. Basing off of a true story, this book was written to raise awareness for mental health, both mental and physical abuse, and the voiceless feeling so many people have.

I read a few pages in the shop — the prose is accessible and enjoyable.
