Postcard from the Hiawatha in 1961

Another postcard bearing this image was previously posted on Perfect Duluth Day, but this one bears a postmark from 60 years ago today — Aug. 15, 1961.

The recipients of the card were Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Fox of Richmond Heights, Mo. The names of the senders appear to be Gladys and Les. The message reads:

Mon Aug 14
Greetings from the north woods. After the Hughes arrive, we expect to be on this little boat. Yesterday the temperature hit an unheard of high of 91 degrees but last night we slept under blankets.
