Minneapolis-based singer/songwriter Brianna Lane released her song “Duluth” on the 2002 album On Rooftops.

In the second verse Duluth is just a short drive up Interstate 35:

We should drive until the sun rises
On the eastern side of the horizon
240 miles to Duluth
Why didn’t we go to Duluth?

But once the songwriter follows her heart to distant lands, the song concludes a bit farther from Duluth:

It’s 2,400 miles to Duluth
2,400 miles to Duluth
There’s a half a world between us
And I’m feeling every inch
