Frankie Yankovic and His Yanks – “Duluth Polka”

Frankie Yankovic and His Yanks released “Duluth Polka” in 1954 as a 7-inch 45-RPM single and as a 10-inch 78-RPM “promotion record” on the Columbia label (as seen in the video above).

In 1957 the track appeared on the band’s album It’s Polka Night. Two versions of the album were released that year; a third version was released in 2008 on the Leverage label with the modified title It’s a Polka Night.

Addendum: Tim Winker points out on Facebook there was also an “Iron Range” track from Frankie Yankovic and His Yanks (with John Pecon) released in 1949. Winker also recently picked up another version of Columbia’s 10-inch release of “Duluth Polka” and notes “sources say it was recorded January 1953.”
