Uncle Harvey’s Pillar, 2007

Tony Rogers posted this photo to Perfect Duluth Day ten years ago today — Dec. 7, 2007. It features the infamous round column from the sand- and gravel-hopper ruins known as “Uncle Harvey’s Mausoleum.”

The column, which appears on the left side of the image, in the foreground of the lighthouses, is no longer standing. It collapsed into the lake on Feb. 7, 2015.

Below is an alternate shot by Rogers from the same day in 2007, which shows all of Uncle Harvey’s Mausoleum, though the column is a bit consumed by green light.
