“Gleahan and the Knaves of Industry” now crowdfunding

Local filmmaker Samuel T. Weston is no stranger to filmmaking here in Duluth. Last year he made three short films here in town, and another one premiered on the Duluth CW’s “Night at the Movies.”

Now he needs your help with his next big project: a feature film called Gleahan and the Knaves of Industry. Sam has once again partnered with the team that’s growing at the Duluth Film Collective. They call Gleahan an Adventure Comedy where “an opportunistic asshole joins the quest of a delusional man who thinks he lives in a fantasy world.”

The whole thing is in crowdfunding right now on Seed&Spark. Don’t have money to give? No worries! They’re also asking people to just follow the campaign page (which is free!)

A quick look at Sam’s work shows Duluth front-and-center, but in a way that’s not overbearing like other recent films. Often they’re about something else entirely: an office worker who wants to be a Jedi. A programmer whose artificial intelligence forms a cult. But they showcase all the landmarks, all the culture… Everything that makes Duluth great is still right there, plain as day.

Hopefully you’ll be just as excited about this local project as the team clearly is. And once Gleahan goes out into the world, hopefully it will draw more talent to our beautiful city.
