Was WCCO ever local to Duluth? I don't think so, but the transmitter might have reached Duluth (I have done oral history interviews on local radio history). I just learned recently that WCCO stood for Washburn Crosby Company, and they used it to promote their flour products (including Cooking School of the Air or some such thing). My parents and grandparents listened to 'CCO faithfully for years.
