The long-awaited Avenue C restaurant in Cloquet will open its doors to the public on Monday, Jan. 23.

Perfect Duluth Day reported in November the eatery was on track to open by Christmas, but delays in deliveries and construction pushed the date back. General Manager Ryan Kolak says, “We’re here and kicking now.”

Avenue C’s motto is “have fun with your food.” The restaurant’s Facebook page describes the menu as “upscale Americana.” It will run a happy hour every day from 3 to 6 p.m. and feature a Sunday brunch from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“We’re offering a different twist on traditional breakfast items,” says Kolak. Customers can expect dishes like stuffed pancakes, gourmet French toast, pastrami hash and prosciutto and Gruyere croissants.

Avenue C is offering a deal on gift card purchases made during its first week of business — Jan. 23-28. Customers who purchase a $100 gift card will get a free $50 gift card.
