Similar to the “Vilkome to our city of Duluth” version, this is another “Dutch Kid” pennant postcard, popular from about 1900 to 1920. The same cards were produced for various cities across the country.

The back side of this one is postmarked April 28, 1913, mailed from a gal named Ruth to Mrs. Lillian Sparks of Hollywood, Calif.

Received them OK and we thank you very much. Will write later.

I'm going to suggest "Sparks" as a possibility on that last name.

Yeah, it's for sure Mrs. Lillian Sparks. I did a few minutes' digging, and believe she was married to a guy named John Sparks for awhile (they got married in 1900), and had a farm in Orange County, CA. They soon separated. Lillian ended up spending the rest of her life in Cali, working sometimes as a housekeeper.

I wonder if what she sent Ruth was a box of citrus fruit?

Yes, in retrospect it does look like Lillian Sparks. I have edited it to reflect that. Thanks! I owe you both a tangerine.
