Where not in Duluth?

In a twist on our usual game of “Where in Duluth?” we note this time the image was not shot in Duluth, yet the flag references Duluth’s Enger Park. Ready? Set? Describe the location where this photo was shot.

    Mont Du Lac?

  2. Paul Lundgren Paul Lundgren on April 8, 2014 at 4:14 pm

Nope, not Mont du Lac. Rae is about eight miles off.

    Mahtowa golf course?

  4. Paul Lundgren Paul Lundgren on April 8, 2014 at 10:33 pm

Not 29 Pines Golf Course in Mahtowa. Getting colder with that guess.

Superior Municipal Forest off of Hwy 105?

    (Is it in Douglas County?)

  6. Paul Lundgren Paul Lundgren on April 9, 2014 at 2:21 pm

It is not in the state of Wisconsin.

Pine Hill Golf Course near Carlton, MN?

  8. Paul Lundgren Paul Lundgren on April 9, 2014 at 2:33 pm

It is not on a golf course, nor is it in Carlton.

In the snow bank near the woods?

    Proctor!

Proctor — the Piedmont trail system?

  12. Rae Rae on April 10, 2014 at 8:47 am

The trail that leads to the scenic overlook West of Gary New Duluth on Hwy 23 (so, just beyond Fon du Lac)?

  13. Paul Lundgren Paul Lundgren on April 10, 2014 at 8:54 am

The Mont du Lac guess was warmer.

Along the Munger Trail near an unpaved parking area just off Beck’s Road?

  15. Paul Lundgren Paul Lundgren on April 10, 2014 at 2:50 pm

Getting closer now. That’s about six miles off.

I was thinking it might be the SHT where it crosses Skyline by that goofy Getchell-Vinland-Highland intersection, but I’m not sure if that’s Duluth or Proctor there.

  17. Paul Lundgren Paul Lundgren on April 10, 2014 at 10:19 pm

That intersection is in Duluth. It is not the location of the photo, but you are not far off.

    Keene Creek Park?

  19. Paul Lundgren Paul Lundgren on April 11, 2014 at 3:25 pm

Remember, the location is not in Duluth.

  20. Rae Rae on April 14, 2014 at 10:34 am

There is a Keene Creek Park located in Hermantown.

Judging by your response, however, I’m assuming it isn’t there.

Are you ready to give us any more hints?

  21. Paul Lundgren Paul Lundgren on April 14, 2014 at 10:53 am

Rather than give hints at the exact location, I’m going to call it solved when someone correctly guesses the city. This really is a difficult one.

  22. Rae Rae on April 14, 2014 at 11:07 am

    Esko?

  23. jakester jakester on April 14, 2014 at 1:44 pm

    Scanlon

  24. jakester jakester on April 14, 2014 at 1:44 pm

    Or Cloquet

  25. Paul Lundgren Paul Lundgren on April 14, 2014 at 6:01 pm

Wrong on all three counts. Although this is a tough one in terms of exact location, it should be easy to get the city considering all the clues so far.

  26. Zeito Zeito on April 14, 2014 at 6:10 pm

It’s gotta be Proctor or Hermantown, so Ima gonna guess.. Prohermacator… er… Hermantown. No Proctor. My final answer is Proctor.

  27. Paul Lundgren Paul Lundgren on April 14, 2014 at 6:20 pm

Proctor is correct. It is along the dead-end Acacia Street.
