On the Great Lake Cyclone Phenomena:

See how much better the human eye is than the camera? You just hit the money shot for Twin Ports nature moments though. This kind of event is like prospector’s gold for nature lovers. Saw a whole raging set of them New Years day ’10 Stoeny Point. You could suck up a Wisconsin pig with one of these.

Just wish I had our camcorder with instead of the digital point and shoot camera. Purely luck that we caught these. Saw them when driving south on Hwy 61 and just had to get a picture. Camera wasn’t focusing that well for pics, so switched to video. Didn’t realize I was capturing a fairly rare weather phenomenon.

I was watching this from Park Point, and I actually saw three at one point. I asked my mom to get her camera out, but we got distracted by my adorable dog instead. Now I’m disappointed, I didn’t realize what I was seeing was so special. It was beautiful, though.
