Nerd Nite

An account from Tim Broman:

NERD NITE: Had a fine dining experience friends, followed by Nerd Nite.

Dining was at the Radisson Hotel Bowery Brothers Tavern (Superior Street entrance). Several Big Screen TV’s had news and sports going on. I shared some Nachos and had a Caesar Salad, both were good (prices were in line with what I expected). The place is nice, but sadly in need of some additional decorations.

This was my first Nerd Nite at the Depot. Each presenter did a fine job (one did a spot on Free Computer Gaming (?), and Clay Helberg did a Tae Kwon Do presentation with his group).

BUT the last guy (how to become Santa Claus) should be teaching that as an income-producing job of some sort – or at least a series of quick videos featured on YouTube. Tons of passion for the subject, engaging, and clever in his presentation.

Thanks to Crystal Pelkey and Mary Hall for their efforts.

For those of you who haven’t been to the Depot yet for a NN, the Bowery Brothers is only a block away, and as good a place as any to catch a beverage before or after the presentations, if you’re into that sort of thing.

PS – Should you decide to go, try to park on the 5th Ave West side of the building, as that is where the entrance is.
