This week: spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, inline skates and spam

Here’s a sampling of what you have to look forward to this week on the PDD Calendar.

Tuesday is a Primary Election here in Duluth and after you get your vote on you can head down to The Underground for Portrait of a Drowned Man and Toby Thomas Churchill being recorded for a future airing of The Playlist.

Time is running out for farmers markets. The UMD Market Day is every Wednesday until the end of September outside Kirby Center. The Lincoln Park Farmers Market is every Thursday through the middle of October at the Harrison Community Center.

The very very very exceedingly silly musical, Spamalot, opens at the Duluth Playhouse on Thursday and runs for five (no, three, sir) three weekends.

Transplants is a new exhibition opening at the Prøve on Friday featuring artists who have moved to Duluth.

The 18th annual Inline Skate Marathon is this Saturday following the well worn course from Two Harbors to Canal Park.

So what are you doing this week? Can we tag along? Any upcoming events that you want to promote? Let us know.

Various awesome and/or cheesy things coming up:

In what promises to be the smuttiest show in the history of Beaner's Central, the Dirty Curls are playing with the Acceleratii and Peter Pain on Sept. 20. Don't bring the kids.

Not only is Har Mar Superstar playing Pizza Luce on Sept. 21, but opening the show will be the debut of Paul Broman and Kevin Craig's new band, Sweat Equity. They've been working together for about a year and a half now. Dr. Fink from Prince's band Revolution is producing their record (titled Don't be Ashamed) and Jellybean Johnson from Morris Day's band the Time is playing drums and guitar on a few of the tracks.

Care Bears, Care Bears, Yeah will play Beaner's on Sept. 27. As seen on PDD!

Jeremy Messersmith returns to Duluth on Oct. 11 for a show at Teatro Zuccone with Rachael Kilgour. You might remember Messersmith's splendid performance wandering around the Spirit Valley Mall.

Jerry fucking Springer is hosting a live version of "The Price is Right" at the DECC on Oct. 12.

If that's not cheesy enough for you, the Little River Band is playing Clyde Iron Works on Nov. 14.
