— Duluth Public Arts Commission Coordinator Job Description —

The DPAC Coordinator performs administrative support for the Duluth Public Arts Commission. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: attending monthly and all ad hoc DPAC meetings; take detailed and accurate minutes at each DPAC meeting; manage communications internally including emailing meeting minutes and monthly reminders of meetings; manage verbal and written external communications when appropriate with artists, art venues, other community organizations, press and others as directed; making meeting arrangements above and beyond monthly meeting: screening and directing telephone calls for DPAC commissioners; tracking submissions and communication from DPAC Web page; preparing reports and financial data; manage Web page updates and changes; manage airport boxes up to and including transportation of art pieces, installation of pieces, provide secure and temporary storage for art pieces; general customer relations.

Requires excellent written, verbal and interpersonal relationship skills; strong computer skills with ability to use Microsoft software for communication and reports; strong internet and Web design skills; project coordination experience; experience with managing and balancing budgets; accuracy for record keeping and management skills for schedules and calendars; ability to write press releases; and the ability to work well with commissioners, as well as outside clients and vendors.

Applicants must have access to reliable transportation, and may have to transport up to 50-100lbs; manage office and storage space; have reliable access to high speed internet from secure source; a telephone to conduct DPAC business; maintain confidentiality around DPAC business when appropriate.

The contract position is for an average of 20 + hours per month – sometimes less, sometimes more; at $500 per month*. The first year will also include $2,000, divided into monthly payments, for the year. This is specifically for design, build and maintenance of a new DPAC website.

Contractor is responsible for paying their local, state and federal taxes, as well as social security. This is an AT-WILL contracting position reporting directly to and managed by the Duluth Public Arts Commission. The DPAC is the employer, not the City of Duluth.

*If Contractor ends up paying for/using own internet, office space and phone usage, addition compensation may be added
