Y’s “Woodland Dog Walking Group”

The Duluth Area Family YMCA is pleased to announce the start of its “Woodland Dog Walking Group.”

Did you know? Dog owners spend more time walking than non-pet owners. At the Y, we encourage exercise for stress management and overall health – but owning a dog can increase these benefits! Meet up with other Duluth dog lovers at 5 p.m. starting on Sunday, Sept. 11  (Sept-Dec) at Hartley Nature Center. All dogs must be on a leash and owners are asked to clean up after your pets. Please personally invite all dog owners you know to come along — you do not have to be a Y member to participate and there is no cost.

For more information contact Emily Marshall at emarshall @ duluthymca.org or call the Y at 218.722.4745.

If you are coming on Sunday the 11th … please RSVP on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/duluthymca and post a pic of your pooch!

Starting Date: Sunday, Sept. 11  (and each Sunday afternoon until December)
Starting Time: 5 p.m.
Where: Hartley Nature Center, 3001 Woodland Ave. in Duluth  (we will walk down the hill and do the loop at the Nature Center)
When: Every Sunday Afternoon
Who: All are welcome
Cost: Free to everyone!  (even if you are just visiting Duluth)
What to bring: canine companion, leash and clean-up bags.
Y Contact Person: Emily Marshall (Dog: Oliver)

When we're out walking, having a dog with us can make us more approachable and give people a reason to stop and talk, thereby increasing the number of people we meet, giving us an opportunity to increase our network of friends and acquaintances, which also has great stress management benefits!
