Premiere of local documentary on homelessness, poverty, and the working poor in Duluth

On Tuesday, Aug. 23, the film Duluth Q: poverty homelessness and the working poor, will premiere at 7 p.m. at Teatro Zuccone. There will be a time for community reaction and discussion to follow the film’s debut. Local elected officials, various nonprofit staff, and film makers will be on hand to answer questions and share ideas about how the Duluth community can respond to the issue of poverty.

Refreshments will be provided in the lobby of the theater.

~*~THIS EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC~*~

Duluth Q is a new forum for community-wide discussion in Duluth, sponsored by CHUM. These discussions, and subsequent actions, are initiated by questions posed by a group of 20-35 year old Duluthians with the common goal of building stronger communities by raising awareness and providing actions for change about local social issues. The catalyst project for this group is the creation of a documentary about homelessness, poverty, and the working poor in Duluth. This project will allow folks of all ages and backgrounds to discuss and answer the questions, “What is Poverty?” And, “What can you do about it?”
