TrollHunter rocks

As I figured, eventually I started to take Zinema 2 for granted, and even to vaguely feel uncool enough for it.

Then, today, I saw TrollHunter.

“The TrollHunter” is the story of a group of Norwegian film students that set out to capture real-life trolls on camera after learning their existence has been covered up for years by a government conspiracy. A thrilling and wildly entertaining film, “The Trollhunter” delivers truly fantastic images of giant trolls wreaking havoc on the countryside, with darkly funny adherence to the original Norwegian folklore.

If you haven’t gone, this is the way to beat the heat!

We were at the Zinema on Sunday to beat the heat. Saw a great film (Incendies). We are very, very lucky to have the Zinema here in town. Please everyone, support it, so we don’t lose it!

Zinema has had a really solid line-up all summer long. However, Troll Hunter is definitely the best.

I liked that other Scandinavian movie they showed a while back … about Santa Claus. It was very dark. I love Zinema. I highly recommend seeing the latest by Woody Allen there too.

You’re thinking of Rare Exports, Claire. And I agree that Midnight in Paris is not to be missed. I’m hoping to catch TrollHunter tonight at the late show, if I’m not too tired after rehearsal.

And to anyone who hasn’t been to the Zinema 2 yet… Go. Great staff. Beer on tap. And absolutely the best mix of preshow oddities on any big screen in the region. I have no idea where Tim finds these clips.

Agreed. Troll Hunter rocked, and Z2 does too.

Claire, you’re right, it’s the best Woody Allen film in years. Tree of Life is a definite big-screen-must-see as well. In fact, the whole line-up is great. Plus Two Hearted Ale on tap, and a tasty red wine option!

Was Troll Hunter filmed in the Queasy Cam style? It seems like a movie I would like but Blair Witch made me literally nauseous for hours after.

Someone told me that if you eat a ($10+) meal at Zeitgeist, you get a free ticket to any film that same day. Confirm?

    Adam,
That Lunch & a Movie deal is good for any film that starts before 2p.m.

Adam, I think I got a little flyer last time I lunched at Zeitgeist advertising a free matinee before 2 pm (?) if I spent more than $10 on lunch. I may be mis-remembering, but I’m pretty sure that’s the deal.

Sadly now, there isn’t a pre-2pm showing of Trollhauger, what else could go wrong on this Tuesday?

For the record, I do not appear in this film as the hunted.

The film is filmed similarly to Blair witch, but I didn’t find it nearly as nauseating. Unfortunately I had to see it at the Lagoon since the commute is a bit much.
