Once, I was at the downtown P.O. After the guy in front of me finished his business with the clerk and left, she whispered to me, “Do you know who that was?” I shrugged my shoulders. After all, I’m the person who bought a cupcake from Janeane Garofolo at a MoveOn.org bake sale in NYC and didn’t even realize it until my friend told me. Anyway, I say to the clerk, “Who was it?” And she gets this total shit-eating, goofy grin on her face, and says “Alan Sparhawk, he’s in a band called LOW! They’re FAMOUS!”
