On Perfect Duluth Days like these …

I particularly enjoy walking through freeway underpasses with headphones on and being surprised by a snow plow scorching above me, issuing a whitewashing similar to a Uinta Mountain avalanche.

The place I worked a few years back (Barrett knows the place) had their parking lot underneath the freeway. After one 12 hour Christmas shift of nonstop snow, I was walking out to my car with a coworker when a snowplow passed overhead. My friend pulled me back to safety, just in time to avoid about a hundred pounds of snow, sand, ice chunks, and rock salt from flattening me. I am sure it would’ve resulted in serious injury.

Living in this climate is always an adventure!

Have you spent time in the Uintas? Funny you say that, in about 1986 me and a bunch of dudes on Wintersticks took Wolf Creek snow cats into the Uintas … a blast, but no avalanche. I lived in Park City for 15 years and know the Uintas well. How many people know it’s the only mountain range that runs east-west?

I suppose I should say why it’s funny. I’m planning a reunion with said dudes today.
