Thanksgiving 2010
What is open in Duluth on Thanksgiving? We used to travel to the TC to go to Dunn Bros. for coffee (they were open until noon), reading the Black Friday ads, then down to a casino for a magnificent dinner buffet.
Where can I snag some coffee and dinner in Duluth on this most Thankful of Days?

The question of where to go for dinner came up on PDD last year.
Thanksgiving Dinner 2009
In addition to the free Thanksgiving dinner at the DECC, suggestions from last year included:
Pickwick
The Shack Smokehouse & Grille
Captain Barker’s Restaurant & Lounge
Lighthouse on Homestead
Black Woods
I haven’t confirmed that any of these places are for sure open on Thanksgiving — these are just the recommendations from last year.
Also, I’m pretty sure the Dry Dock Bar & Restaurant does Thanksgiving dinners.
Here’s a post from last year on the topic. I can’t say if any of the information in the comments holds true this year, but it’s a start.
Ah! Paul beat me to it.
Here’s a post from… oh… already done? Oh well.
Kmart is open Thanksgiving day because they want to squeeze more labor from their employees.
The Black Bear Casino has a very nice buffet.
Coffee?
Well I finally had a meal at the Duluth Grill and I have to say – WOW! Give it a shot!
This is not a Thanksgiving Day event, but still related to the topic:
Keene’s Creek Youth Organization is holding a Turkey Dinner Fundraiser on Monday, Nov. 22, from 5-7pm at Irving Community Center, 20 S. 57th Ave. W.
Advance tickets are available at kcyoduluth.org. It’s $7 per plate or $25 for a family of five. To-go orders are available for advanced ticket holders.
“All the fixings of a traditional thanksgiving meal” are promised.
Other restaurants serving Thanksgiving dinner:
Upper Deck in Superior
Old Town Bar & Restaurant in Superior
Buffalo House in Midway Township
Midi in Duluth
As for coffee, I think the Starbucks downtown may be open on Thanksgiving. I’m not sure, but I have a memory of stopping there on the way to my grandpa’s house.
Charbuck’s?
Agreed, zra — but it’s open!
Also, in the coffee genre, I know that Caribou in Canal Park was open until about 4 pm. I’m not sure if that’s the case this year because I no longer work there, but I will look into it.
